Το ξενοδοχείο “DRIMONI boutique” βρίσκεται στην περιοχή Γερμανώλη, λίγο έξω από τη Χώρα της Ίου. Αποτελείται από 3 διώροφα κτίρια με εξαιρετική θέα προς το λιμάνι. Το συγκρότημα λειτουργούσε για πολλές δεκαετίες ως χώρος φιλοξενίας, στη λογική κυρίως του hostel. Μας ζητήθηκε να μετατρέψουμε τη μονάδα σε ένα σύγχρονο κυκλαδίτικο boutique hotel με αναγνωρίσιμη εταιρική ταυτότητα, που θα είχε τη δυνατότητα να προσφέρει σε κάθε φιλοξενούμενο μια μοναδικά προσωποποιημένη εμπειρία.

Κύριος στόχος ήταν η λειτουργική και αισθητική ενοποίηση των τριών μονιλιθικών όγκων των κτιρίων, καθώς και ο επανασχεδιασμός του αδιαμόρφωτου υπαιθρίου χώρου. Το εσωτερικό των κτιρίων αναδιαμορφώθηκε πλήρως για να προκύψουν 16 διαφορετικά μεταξύ τους δωμάτια με ιδιωτικούς υπαίθριους χώρους εκτόνωσης, που μπορούν να καλύψουν ποικίλες ανάγκες και επιθυμίες.

Η ενσωμάτωση της κυκλαδίτικης αρχιτεκτονικής παράδοσης στο σχεδιασμό, με minimal τρόπο και με σύγχρονα μέσα, και η λεπτομερής επεξεργασία όλων των στοιχείων του χώρου, οδήγησαν στη δημιουργία σχεδόν “γλυπτικών” εσωτερικών και εξωτερικών χώρων, που επιτρέπουν στη ματιά και στο σώμα να απλωθεί και να χαλαρώσει.

DRIMONI boutique hotel is located near the village Chora, on Ios, one of the cycladic greek islands. It consist of three 2-story buildings, which have excellent Port view. For many decates, the complex was functioning as a hostel. We were asked to turn it into a contemporary cycladic boutique hotel, with a distinct corporate identity, and the ability to offer to every guest a unique personalized experience.
Main goals of the project were the functional and aesthetic unification of the three monolithic buildings, and the redesign of the formless open space of the hotel.

The inner space was fully reconstructed to form 16 unique rooms with private balconies and verandas, which are able to fill the demand for a diversity of needs and wills. Light passages on the first floor, and engravings with the use of natural materials on the ground floor, lead the guests throughout the complex.

The incorporation of the traditional cycladic architecture in the design, with a minimal and contemporary way, as well as the detailed processing of every spatial aspect, lead to the creation of almost “sculptural” spaces, whose simplicity and microscale, allow the body and the gaze to spread and relax.
